Colchester was Britain's first Roman city. The original city walls still exist providing historic interest and there are many legends associated with this area.

Today, Colchester is a vibrant, cosmopolitan town, packed with amenities, leisure, sports and entertainment for all the family. There are excellent shopping opportunities, including many unusual, independent shops and boutiques, alongside all the popular brand name stores.

Surrounded by countryside, there is also a wide selection of fresh produce available, all locally grown. Whether you choose to live in Colchester, near the sea, along the River Colne, or further inland, each area has much to offer in the way of local amenities.

Transport Links
  • Road: There is very good access from Colchester and the surrounding area to all parts of the country via the M25, A12 and the A14.
  • Rail: Frequent services into London Liverpool Street from mainline stations at Colchester and Witham make this area very desirable for commuters. There is an airport link to Stansted and are also regular services to and from nearby towns such as Ipswich, Witham, Clacton on Sea, Braintree and Chelmsford.
  • Bus: There are regular reliable bus services provided to and from the surrounding villages and towns. National Express also provides a service to London and the main London airports.
Education
